A prominent pioneer in the field of Integrative Medicine in China, Professor Li is former director of the Institute of Integrative Medicine in Hebei Medical University. He was a major contributor to the development of the training manual for barefoot doctors – medics for rural China. He also founded the the first privately funded medical college in Hebei with the goal of training integrative East-West medicine practitioners to provide healthcare to the underserved rural population in China. Professor Li has served as section chief of Education and Basic Theory Research of the China Association of Integrative Medicine. As a scientist, he has also developed herbal preparations for osteoporosis, blood and brain diseases.
