Professors Rudolf Bauer and Xie Zhufan discuss the need to establish standardized English terminologies and nomenclature for traditional Chinese medicine.
In October 2007, the World Health Organization, after three years of international collaborative effort, finally released the milestone publication which lists 4,000 standardized medical terms titled, WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region. Professor Xie’s role has been recognized by WHO as "the leading core among the experts in making it possible for WHO/WPRO to publish the book."
