Yung Chi (Tommy) Cheng, PhD – Professor Cheng holds the Henry Bronson Professor of Pharmacology at Yale University School of Medicine. He is the former Program Director of Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center and is the chairman of the Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine. He is an innovative pioneer in herbal drug research and discovery, and internationally renowned for his significant role in the advancement of pharmacology.
Chih Ming Ho, PhD – Dr. Ho holds the Ben Rich-Lockheed Martin Professor in UCLA School of Engineering. He pioneered the microfluidics field which is now the backbone technology for bio-medical engineering. He is a member of US National academy of Engineering and an Academician of Academia Sinica. Recently, he has developed the feedback system control (FSC) technology, which can rapidly identify the optimal drug-dosage cocktail from very large number of possible combinations. FSC has been successfully demonstrated in 6 cancer, 3 viral infection models and also in Chinese herbal medicine.
Willow Liu, PhD, MS, LAc – Dr. Liu is a Chinese Medicine Practitioner with an outstanding scientific research background in herbal medicine. She received her Ph.D. under the instruction of Professor Xin Sheng Yao in Shen Yang Pharmaceutical University, China and was selected as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow under the guidance of Professor Rudolf Bauer in Germany at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology. She has trained with internationally renowned herbal medicine researchers and is unique in her perspective about herbal medicine development and research with her clinical background.
Ka-Kit Hui, MD, FACP (Moderator) – Dr. Hui is the founder and director of UCLA Center for East-West Medicine and the Annenberg Professor of Integrative East-West Medicine. He also chairs the UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Hui is an internationally acclaimed scholar with board-certification in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology with an expertise in geriatrics. He has consulted with National Institute of Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and World Health Organization on various aspects of integrative medicine and Chinese medicine, and holds honorary and visiting professorships across the globe.
